Lately there have been an increased number of scams where the seller sends their item first, and then never receives payment from the buyer. This drastically increases the difficulty of getting a refund for the seller due to the intended payment being lost in duels or bets, or never existing in the first place.
The following guidelines apply for both ingame trading and trading on the forum. If you are unsure and want to guarantee that you will not be scammed, use safetrade to conduct your transactions:
For the Seller:
- Make sure the buyer has the tc that they are offering you
- Have the buyer send you the tc first before you send them the item or art.
For the Buyer:
- Make sure that the seller actually has the item they are trying to sell you.
If you follow those simple guidelines, your chances of being scammed are dropped dramatically.
For TC sales. Do not send the TC until after you have received payment from the buyer. It is extremely difficult to recover TC that has been lost in bets or duels. If you wait to send the TC until after the payment is received, then you know you are not being scammed, and you save yourself and us a lot of headaches.
If you have any questions about these guidelines, feel free to contact me or any other market squad member.
