meh, thats pretty true, i don't really think there is a difference, but, i also don't understand why that there is 2 different names for them, i think that hip hop is not as GRIme and StReeT as rap but, oh well

I think you have it mixed up, rap is lyrics focused and hip-hop is beat focused. I could be wrong though.
