Looking to learn a programming language
Hi, all, I'm thinking about learning a programming language. I have no experience with any scripting languages although I do know "scratch" back to front. I was just wondering what I should start with. I want something easy to learn that will help me move on to java. Thanks in advance!

Java is easy to learn straight up, it is easy, clean, and aims to teach good programming practices and enforce good programming, whilst being very simple.

There isn't really anything easier in my opinion, but any other language that is from the same family will help you learn it, eg Python, PHP, Javascript, C(++/#).

Smalltalk is a good one to learn on too.
I reccommend javascript, or if you just want to learn something before java then go learn actionscript (Flash Programming Language)

If you get stuck with either you can always PM me, be sure to try tutorials and don't give up, you need to have a project in mind so you can apply what you learn to it, this will help you practice and get into applying your Programming Knowledge.

Good Luck
