all I said was most of the time higher education = higher pay
Of course there's exceptions to it.

Righto, let's throw this into perspective now.
I was talking about extremes:
1. Loads of money and no happiness
OR
2. No money and internal happiness with the self.
Obviously, the ideal is to have both loads of money and to be happy with who you are and how your relationships are. We are social creatures, and the point I was making was that it's better to be poor than to have golden handcuffs.
Durable Fulfillment is what one should strive for. That is to say that they should look for absolute freedom, absolute success and absolute happiness. With these three things, a well rounded mature individual will thrive in the world, leading the best life that they possibly can.
It is my opinion that if you had to choose two of these things, freedom and happiness would be better than just money, which is exactly golden handcuffs.
Here is a question:
If you could only have two of those three traits, which do you think would be the best?
The options are:
Success
Freedom
Happiness

Success and freedom aren't exactly the same thing as happiness. Happiness is the end to which all our behaviours follow. Freedom allows us to pursue happiness, and success allows us to have a better quality of living.

The homeless are completely free and the overly successful can be seen as being in golden handcuffs.
In any case, I hypothesis, everyone would pick happiness over money, but would choose both if they could.

I think you'll find happiness isn't a currency, sir.
I reckon' the general consensus of the posters in this thread is that money, whilst being a contributor to happiness, is not the only thing required for happiness.
Methinks also, that this discussion has run its course and there's not likely to be any more fruitful discussion around it.

I believe, that happiness is priceless,
Priceless means you can't pay for it with currency, bartering, possessions.
Freedom isn't free, which means you have to pay for it.
Succeeding, comes with failures.
You put them all together, you need failures, to achieve success.
You also need money, to achieve success.
You need success to achieve freedom.
And with freedom your granted happiness.

When people are free, they do not automatically receive happiness. And you don't need success to achieve freedom, you need freedom to achieve success. You need to be free to be successful first, as you can still be free and unsuccessful. When you are then successful, half of the problem of happiness is solved. Your economic arrangements are safe, and your quality of living is good. It is then up to you to have good moral virtue.

well, in my opinion it depends of what you gonna work with, by personal experience, for exemple, i know that things like digital arts, 3D, photoshop or whatever, you actually doesn't even need to go to school, you just need to do the thing right and good... but in some cases good grades are important, but i don't belive that you need $20000 or more per month to be happy, do you
Oh and sorry for bad english...
