I've heard that up to a point, yes, money can buy happiness. If you're dirt poor, you're probably not very happy. Apparently some study says that above 80k/yr, happiness doesn't increase much. That seems pretty accurate. I'm close to that now and I can see that with that sort of salary, I can spend moderately and have pretty much anything I need. Heck, I'll have anything I want, as long as it's not extravagant. At that point, if I were offered the choice of a raise or 4 extra hours of vacation hours a week, I would rather get more time than money.

Well put, however. For the bold part, if one is oppressed and hasn't tasted the sweetness of freedom, and has achieved it. They feel a sense of happiness. Correct?
Other than the bold part, I agree with you.

Sure, but a sense of happiness isn't the same as happiness as an end to our behaviors.

A sense of happiness, brings relief.
Although relief, is brief, only for the moment.
It is considered happiness.
Sadly I can't argue my point any further than that.

Relief is not considered the same happiness as an end to behaviors. As an end to our behaviors, happiness is a life well lived; two conditions of which is good moral virtue and blessings of good fortune. Not the same as relief.

Well put, I see your a master debater yourself. :O

Edit,
So now here's the ending question of this debate,
How does one's money,
affect/effect,
ones behaviors,
as well as his/her owns happiness?
Simply put, how does somebody's money affect the way their behavior is, and effect their moods?
See,
somebody can have large amounts of money, and still be unhappy.

The whole reason I have Happiness as a separate thing is because you can have freedom and success and be completely miserable, but you can be happy, whilst being poor and in a prison, both literal and metaphoric.

But durable fulfillment is the culmination of freedom, success and happiness and this is why money is next to worthless when it brings no joy the the owner.

ALL HAIL THE METAPHOR!!

Money is the enabler for many faucets of life, sadly. Unless your only desire in life is to build a house out on a rural farm and live there until you die, you kinda need money to make your life happen. Nowadays, this also means that, if you want a job that will give you a decent salary, you need a higher education.

may also be that your friend has just shot a crap to justify the bad grades in school XD
Anyway I think money make happiness because you can live in better and do more experiences, however I think a poor man can be happier than a rich, because the money can not buy everything, love, the affection of a family etc.
