That's why I talk of a subjective reality and not a scientific one.
That's what the thread is about. If you can't distinguish that simulation from the "real" reality, then that is reality to you and will be for every effect.
As an individual, suscetible to flaws, you will never be able to tell what is real, only what you perceive as real.

As a realist, I'd say that the only subjective reality exists in our intellect, and an independent reality we experience with our senses.

Lol I'm just going to jump in here without any context and say this; just because our experiences of reality are all subjective, doesn't mean there is an objective reality that we are all experiencing in a subjective manor.
The simple parallel would be video games; everyone plays the same Counterstrike, but some people like it and think it is a nice easy game, other people like it and think it is technically demanding, others don't like it and think it is just primitive. The game itself doesn't change, but we all just experience it differently.

I wouldn't trust our senses, but like you said, you consider yourself a realist and I consider myself a nihilist, it's a classic discussion in a lot of scientific and phylosophical fields. I doubt we would ever think any different than we do now.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say here.
Your first paragraph is kind of confusing. Because we experience reality does not mean there as a reality we all experience?
I am not playing stupid, I am honestly confused.
Then to your second paragraph. Ok, that makes sense. But the thing is, Counterstrike is real. It is a set of mechanics that people play, but experience differently from their own perspectives. Is that the point you're trying to make in the first paragraph?

Indeed, in other words, although we are subjectively experiencing reality, that doesn't mean an objective reality doesn't exist.
It only becomes subjective once we experience it.

Then what would be the cause of your subjective reality? And what reality would that cause lie in?

So, Ray, if the simulation is so real and perfect that you could never tell the difference or know that it wasn't real, you would still reject it because of your starting knowledge of it being just an exclusive sim, right?
But if it was perfect to the point of not distinguishing, then how could you know that your current self is not being simulated also?

I never understood this... I mean isn't reality how you... I say again "YOU!" perceive it? Now if there were some other outside doing something to alter it... wouldn't it still be YOUR reality? I mean the whole dimensions thing isn't still how you see things and how things are portrayed to you?

Of course not.
I'd say to your friends to arm yourselves with knowledge to be able to intellectually challenge the theories that they do not like, instead of just being emotionally incredulous to them.

Every person I quoted was a close personal friend of mine,
and they all stayed in their emotional safe-zones.
Honestly,
I don't think my mind would be able to handle such a thing like this.
So I'd have to agree with them,
I mean,
I'm open to the possibilities, but I don't want to believe its true.
It would wreck me.
