Usually I have irc + music on latop / work & stuff on two other screens.
(I reinstalled laptop not too long ago, and was moving stuff to it when I took that pic)
ASUS p8z68 v-pro (first gen.) mobo
i7-2600k @ stock settings turbo disabled until I get a decent cooler.
Radeon HD 6950, which is now working as a 6970, perfectly without problems.

As for setup I have an old Siemens CRT monitor which supports max. only 1600x1200 resolution.
An older lenovo keyboard, and a bit newer, office logitech mouse.(both were free)
I also have made a headtracker, I only need a webcam, or tuner card to use it.
And I have Philips MDR-CD780 Headphones, and an older Creative sound card for it.

right, I am planning to use freetrack.

the thing is that I can't really afford anything yet(the first thing would be a monitor maybe), I have made this Head led thing mainly for Il-2 sturmovik I didn't even known about dcs,but I should try it later on, it looks awesome.

and I didn't include joystick for a reason that my current one basically sucks, it is a cheap Genius one, I might try to make it better, but it is sometimes hard to control well, it moves really "angular"(cant find the right word), it stucks sometimes, and such. I might take it apart and see what the problem is.

Since you are in simulators, could you recommend me a fairly cheap(some kind of beginner) joystick, and throttle (maybe rudder pedals as well)combination?

-------------------------------------------

modern age civil planes:

sure, best one for beginner is:

thrustmaster 16000M, you would not have any problems with it being angular ( because it's not ) and it will serve you well.

best suggestion ever: never buy any genius joysticks. they are all fucked up.

if you will feel like you can afford something more advanced i may recommend:

mid cathegory:

g940 - i use it and it's just flawless. it got rudder and dual throttle aswell.

saitek x52, x52 pro - pretty popular, but you will had to buy pedals separately

expensive:

thrustmaster hotas warthog - you will had to buy pedals separately

CH products - expensive as fuck to get a proper set, but i heard it worth it.

Thank you very much, Im gonna try those games as well, whenever I get a camera working, and a joystick too.

As for joystick, I think I am gonna pass the expensive as fuck category, and go with a x52 pro and will find rudders for it, since that is much cheaper than the g940(although the g940 looks awesome,I am sure I will think about it first). I am afraid that this won't happen this year, because I've just got a new room, and I have plenty of things to do, and buy here first. School is also coming, so yeah, this must wait.

thanks for the help though.

not really

look here

Saitek X52 Pro - around 170$
Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals - around 120$

so the whole set will cost around 290$

logitech g940 - around 270$

so thats quite the same.

pros for x52 pro: looking badass, got a screen for ms fsx.

pros for g940: more buttons, dual throttle and rather easy to setup/config.

rest is more or less the same.

read some reviews about both, anyway, if you want all in one - g940 is optimal choice with reasonable price.

Right, but for some reason in hungary the logitech one costs around 350-400$ which is basically almost the half price of my computer, while the saitek one is at the same price that you wrote. I don't know the reason why it is that expensive, I am just hoping the price would go down in some months.

And of course I will read reviews, but I am also leaning towards the g940, since it looks much more amazing and the dual throttle is just an awesome plus there, and I am rather into fighting, and not into fsx. Also I think I can rely on your opinions, since you appear to be an experienced player, and you already have good opinions on the g940.

well, g940 is just universal and all in one ( stick, throttle, pedals ). this is the main factor why i chose it. it works great in il-2 without much hassle with ingame configs, and as i said this is very middle-class joystick.

you buy such things just once in a while and they serve you for years ;) you don't need to upgrade it / buy new ones each couple of years like parts of pc, so this is good investition ;p
