Too dark.

True, needs a low opacity white layer above it, with some harder color to make it look it's actually alive, and not like a zombie kind of thing.

First head using my tablet for most of it.

Well, I like smothness and sharp edges blend together, but from designer view point you lack an idea(-s). I know it is your style, but it is starting to get boring. Add some new details. Since you have tablet you can draw various things. No hard feelings, but I know you can do much better.
By the way, this is only my opinion.
Edit: You should add military rank engraving on the forehead, I think it would look nice.
