Well obviously the devs know. But it builds suspense and makes the release that much sweeter when it finally does come out.

I got a question about DQ sound item.
If i buy a DQ sound item and activate it, will other players hear my custom DQ sound?

You can't currently purchase the DQ sound item, and I'm pretty sure that it does not work in this version of toribash (if it ever did).
