Yea, 400+ items and some new bosses.

Really looking forward to this, because Terraria was way too short to start with.

Aaaaaand the new update is out.

In total there are over 1,000 new items
There are 10 new ores
There are 12 new wing types
There are 4 new bosses
There are over 100 new enemies

I have to wonder though, is this new content evenly spread all over the game, or is it mostly in normal play or hardmode? I'm hoping evenly spread. :U

Ok, can confirm that it's spread out so far. Loving the new ability to walk up single blocks, no more spastic jumpfingers! Also no more having to flatten several kilometers of land to facilitate effective movement. Mmm.
