Correct, the Linux version will work natively on BSD - so long as you have SDL, LUA & a GL system (eg MESA) installed.

Problem is the Linux version is vastly out of date, so you would have to use the server patch Jalis made (see support sticky).

I just stick to WINE & the Windows client, they work together fine.
