Currently I'm using the samsung galaxy tab 1st gen (ancient technology) and it's a pile of crap. I'm looking for a new tablet that will allow me to record lectures, watch youtube videos and take notes. I'm not looking for anything fancy or anything with a huge huge display. Used or new my price range is <$350 for it. What are some tablets I should look into?

Any cheap chink tablet will be fine for that.

ipad mini 3 for 399 or 2 for about your price range...

trust me, when it comes to tablets, apple is the most reliable imo (not always phones tho)

unless you want a gaming tablet, then obv the nvidia shield (that thing is amazing)
