They're basically sprinting during the majority of the show. These people are in ridiculous shape. Especially the tenor players. The tenors are the largest harnessed percussion used in this show. They use Dynasty tenors that weigh about 60 pounds (about 27.3 kg). I'm in a group for these competitions this year as a tenor player (we also are using the same dynasty tenors) and we've started conditioning. It's surprising how fast you start gasping for breath and your heart rate jumps with those just sitting on your shoulders at first.
