VIRUS
Ok so there's this random file in my C drive and it's named WINDOWS in capitals
is it suppose to be there
cause
my virus scanner keeps detecting A LOT of viruses from it
I need a quick reply if a file named WINDOWS in a C drive should be in it
cause i'm thinking of deleting it
HELP ASAP

here's some info on the virus that keeps popping up from that file
Virus: TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen Date discovered: 25/01/2007 Type: Trojan In the wild: Yes Reported Infections: Low Distribution Potential: Low Damage Potential: Low Static file: No Engine version: 7.03.00.32
I'm sorry for the double post
but i found the source of where the viruses are coming from it's coming from this exe file called MSA
i tried deleting it but it's not letting me
here's a screenshot below

another screenshot is coming from another file
i'm trying to find where it's coming from
sorry for my grammar but i'm rushing cause of this virus

EDIT: guys i just found out that my virus scanner is a fake it is a virus
for those who use Antivirus or Antivir (i think)
i suggest that you should get rid of it and delete it
google helped me disccover this link so
here's the link:
http://www.xp-vista.com/spyware-remo...l-instructions

EDIT(AGAIN):
Ok i'm not absoulutely sure that it is AntiVir but i'm pretty sure that it's MS AntiVirus
i disabled my current antivirus and tried to delte it
it didn't work so
can anyone help?

EDIT(AGAIN):
This is ridiculous
that dam virus just keeps popping up with my virus scanner doing ANNOYING/IRRITATING SOUND WHENEVER MY VIRUS SCANNER DETECTS IT
SO
IF SOMEONE FINDS A WAY TO HELP ME DELTE THESE FILES I WILL GIVE AWAY ONE THOUSAND TORICREDITS AND A EMO HEAD
(IT'S NOT MUCH BUT THAT'S ALL I CAN GIVE AWAY)
LIKE SERIOUSLY
if this ccomputer crashes i will die a slow and painful death from my sister
and maybe a huge lecture from my parents
i've already killed my desktop
i will not accidently kill another computer

Google is your friend..

I would also recommend you to download avg.
It's a decent, free anti virus software..

Pm me if you need more help
Teehee
Erm..
Someone can close this now
I got rid of the virus
All i just had to do is find where it is
then just
Go to task manager Click on the processes tab and end the process of the virus and then delete it

Btw, I don't think My virus scanner had anything to do with it
Just don't download or install MS AntiVirus
Even if the site looks like a real company some hackers/people are desperate to get viruses onto your computer
I suggest that you should all just download AVG everyone says it's safe so yeah.
