Thanks for the tips. Considering I usually host tourneys, this would be a good way for me to learn more! ^_^ I will also be able give more now.

There are three ways to gain tc while hosting.
First, this way requires no effort at all. When you set /house <your name> You will automatically receive 10% of all lost bets. So if the person that loses has 10k bet on them, you will receive 1k in bet rakes.
Second, are the nudges. When someone pays you for a nudge, they will transfer the tc to your account via the shop, they should know how to do this, but you might need to tell them. Be sure to have the forums up on your transaction history so you can see when someones sends you nudge money, can be found here. TRANSACTION HISTORY.
Third, this would be betting. This one has a chance of you losing tc, but why host a betting server if you aren't willing to bet yourself! There isn't much fun without risks.

For the nudges, you should try explaining when to have 500tc-1000tc nudges. I would find an easy balance at 750tc in my opinion, but if it's not the right price, people tend to not buy them.

I hope my master idea help out. I don't read text that well, so...

Well 10am gmt+2 is like 3am for americans. Americans make up alot of toribash. 6pm is like 10am for americans as well. Also, player count no longer judges how many players you will get. You dont know if its newbies from steam thats on or if theres high experienced betters on.

Only reason i could see why your servers failed, based on what you said, is the time.

Though i may be wrong, i dont host to often.

+1 good tutorial

And scorpion, time is definently part of the reason, but you also must be somewhat lucky.

Time is a huge factor as you always want to do it when there are the most players on, but not only do you want to look at the most, you want to see which players are on as well, as most of your big bets are going to come from the big name players/older players. However, luck is also a big factor, and that's nothing that you can control yourself, just get lucky I guess.

Maybe mention about self betting and nudges to first and the /fuke command. also maybe talk about how nudge prices depend on the decapprize e.g. if DP is 20k the price for a nudge can be up to 15k selfbet whereas without a decapprize you will be lucky to get 1k selfbet. (maybe talk about how the number of players on the server and how much they are willing to spend in general also affects the price since sometimes people are not just motivated by DP).

On a side note maybe mention some of the things you can get reported for in betting servers e.g. cancelling bets is now required if counter is less than 10%. You are not allowed to take the decapprize by asking your opponent to stand still while you decap-opener or by lowering dismember threshold. You shouldn't kick people who have paid for a nudge unless they are spamming like crazy. You can't nudge yourself without paying to DP.

These are all quite obscure points so feel free to ignore them. [add it]

Would mentioning that they have to do /dl (your username) to see how much TC they have since it doesn't tend to update automatically while hosting be relevant for this tutorial or does that belong somewhere else? Same goes for /decapprize 1 to permanently update it (/dl only tends to last 1 round).
