Anti-Virus change and Malware problem
Hey there,

I don't know what anti-virus that the people of toribash use, but I've begin to notice something about Norton Antivirus that came with my laptop.

It sucks.
It doesn't even allow you to scan when you click on the buttons on the UI, so I have things like SpyBot and Malwarebytes to scan instead :/

This brings me to my problem, I keep scanning with SpyBot and noticing some Malware called Win32.Downloader.gen, I've researched it and it can cause quite a few problems by controlling my internet traffic, however when my SpyBot finds it, sometimes it becomes unclickable (the whole SpyBot application) so I have to scan again. After I've gone through the long scan again and it's clickable, I click fix selected. It gets rid of the thing. Until I next boot up my laptop :L

Which leads me to believe this stupid malware has a rootkit on my computer and I'm absolutely terrible at removing these things T_T

So I ask, what antivirus should I get? Because I'm definitely getting rid of Norton, the stupid waste of computer resources costed money xD

Thanks
to me.
i prefer Aniva anti-virus personal , it do the job clean.
Poop poop poop shit shit piss pussy pear-shaped person peice of shit
get malware bytes, and avg/avast/avira, remove nortons as that and mcafee are just there to try and make you pay for their software

be more careful with what you click/download online, double check download links, esp in shady third party sites like the ones you find on the 5th and up pages on google while searching for music etc.

Comodo is pretty great too. I wouldn't suggest Avast/Avg as I have found that they miss a lot of stuff through experience with them.
Hoss.
Thanks for the suggestions so far, trying to weigh up which to get.
Any ideas for getting rid of that Win32 thing that keeps appearing on my SpyBots malware list?..
I hear that the free version of Avast I should be downloading and installing a different firewall seperately such as Comodo?
Just uninstalling Norton at the moment and installing Avast before I sleep ya see and was wondering if I was covered or not xP

Never mind, the one built into windows is good enough. I'll leave it at that. Thanks for the help everyone.
