So how clans/orgs have these threads, where there could be multiple leaders, sometimes there's the issue where the thread poster goes inactive and needs the thread to be updated, would be neat if you add permissions to let a few people edit a thread, unless you can already ask to own a thread through admins?

Correction: not always by LMods. Point remains, changing ownership of threads can already be done, just contact someone who is capable of doing it.

If you want to have multiple people be able to maintain the first post of your clan thread in Clan Discussion, then that too is already possible. To do this, add people as leader in your toriclan page found here: http://forum.toribash.com/clan.php
