ok hello! look at my signature and see how that gif runs smooth?
ok now look at my avatar its the exact same gif 100% the same... now why is it broken like that(the avatar one is really messed up it doesnt look right)

why is this happening? is it because of the transparency?

Its not hardly noticable and i dont know why it is like that but did you tried different image speeds of the gif? Maybe theres a fixed speed Set for avatar gif's. Just try to do that gif with faster image changes

Try to resize the gif with -1 in each side likes 149x149 size.

The original GIF is 155x150. If you try to upload it as an avvy(150x150 maximum), the 5 pixels that exceed the maximum size will make the avvy get altered.

Why the image doesn't get altered in the signature?

Because the signature supports a higher image size.

Solution:

Just reduce 5 pixels from length and you will have a perfect avvy. Don't forget to don't exceed from 100kb of file size. Cheers!
