It displays your forum avatar bellow your name and belt while you are in-game, in match.
The past makes you wanna die out of regret, and future makes you depressed out of anxiety. So by elimination, the present is likely the happiest time.

Just to avoid misinformation, you were close but it doesn't display your avatar ingame. It displays a small texture which you upload to the icon. This texture is displayed under your name and stuff ingame.
