color the sides of the head for it to color the back of the texture.the top is same bottom same.middle is the face of the texture.my sister was self taught.

this is the template of a head texture. the borders (right and left) will be the back of the texture. it's pretty much self-explanable.

Note: there's three different types, the usual head texture, the 256x256, and the 512 one.
the higher the resolution is, better quality it'll have. Although won't be a nice thing to put a 128 image on a 512 head, or vice-versa, that'll make it loose quality by resizing it.
