Well it's 670,000 Light years away..

1 Light year =
5.87849981 з 10^12 miles

That's about 5,878,499,810,000 (5Trillion, 878 billion, 499 million)
Note : i dunno what the last 4 digits are, so this is a rough estimate. Google ftw?

670,000 x 5,878,499,810,000 = 3.93859487 з 10^18 or..

3,938,594,870,000,000,000 miles it has to travel to reach our galaxy.
If it's traveling 670,000 miles per HOUR

3,938,594,870,000,000,000 / 670,000 = 5.87849981 з 10^12

5,878,499,810,000 hours of travel, divided by 24 for total days..
24,493,749,200 days of travel divided by 365 for total years
67,106,162.2 years of travel

...or 67 106.1622 millenniums

so yeah, I wouldn't worry about it.

Oh and this is even assuming it's heading directly for us, in a straight line.

This is why i like 2worlds!!! Guys is brilliant. And that confirmed my absolute disinterest in the phenomenon.

Although galaxies giving borth to black holes is pretty cool in and of itself, it really never (should have) concerned anyone on earth unless it was a potential threat within the next ten to hundred thousand years or less.

ITT morons.

This topic is not about "O NO END OF THE WORLD", the maths 2worlds has done is extremely basic.

Jeez.

Jeez.

It is incredibly basic if someone in 10th grade math did it with no problem >.>

If this "black hole" actually came to the galaxy it would be the end of many worlds Not neccisarily OUR world.... but many other we cant be the first planet with life on it in the galaxy. but it would be doomsday for many other planets it would cut throught the gallaxy like butter and a buzzsaw (:3) Devouring many stars...the if it got to the center of the galacy youd have another recoiling black hole shreading anotehr way out of our galaxy (im only in 7th grade dont -rep me we dont study astro physics)
