I'm looking at a SG but a Gibson is too expensive.
Epiphone maybe?
Should I get a G400 or G310?
All I have right now is a beaten up Fender Strat.

Also, does anyone know what guitar the lead guitarist of Rise Against plays?
All I know is that his first guitar was a Gibson SG and that he has played a Gibson Les Paul Supreme.

I own a G400 (gothic) and its realy realy nice to use and well worth the $$ However I have played a few diffrent epiphones and there can be alot of diffrence between each guitar even if there the same moddle so be sure play afew befor you choose if you can.

As for Rise there a great band but i have no idea what they use and theres no info on wiki (thats as far as Im willing to reserch atm

I've done a lot of internet research about it already so, I reckon the only person to know about it would have to be a huuuuuuuuuuge fan.

I'm gonna let you know. If your gonna get an SG, you have to go with gibson. The only remotely decent guitars made by epiphone that I would rather play than a gibson is their new prophecy series. But if you cant afford a gibson, I would suggest a jackson or a used gibson, I don't fully remember the price of epiphone prophecies, but they should be in your price range.
