Probably because those sub-genres are mainly fusions and appear under the metal umbrella for categorization only... And they do appear because they still have metal influences in them, not necessarily in each track.
I'm eclectic, I like most of the musical genres and sub-genres in and outside metal. Its no problem for me then, good music is still good music at the end of the day... Yes even if they don't fulfill the formal "metal" categorization stereotype. For me, music is totally mutable. Experimental ftw.
