Hi guys, apparently i am a legend now. I am surprised, but nonetheless happy that people think my "contributions" are worthy of the piss name many thanks for the kind words and support i've had during my stay in this community.
so who am i:
Spoiler: about me toribash
I started playing Toribash in 2011, the first thing i ever made was an extremely bad replay in which i stole extremerun's helicopter and claimed it as my own. At the time the most popular replaymaker around was Zalmoxis, he was probably the first time i saw high class replaymaking, so i tried to replicate it. Eventually i would stick to the game because of how fun it is to play and how satisfying it is to achieve set goals.
Replaymakers who influenced me the most:
noweb made frantic replays that fascinated me, the amount of stuff he did in short amounts of time was what probably made my replays so hectic.
Tamer0 was the one who made me think of replays highly and not as a "who can get the most dms" competition. Although i ended up focusing most of my replays around dms because i thought it was fun to make them, this guy made me understand that there was a time and place for everything and that more dms was not always better. He is legit one of the most important replaymakers of all time, almost everyone was either influenced by him or influenced by someone who was influenced by him.
bishopONE/VIDEOGAMES made me want to try out grabbing in manipulations, and it became something that i did very often.
War_Hero/Stompbox, his combo of speed and dismemberments resulted in ridiculously explosive replays. I think this guy pretty much shaped modern ukebashing.
cheZDa, although the videos more than the replays. I really never thought about this but his videos were and still are really great, there are pretty much no people whose replays look like this guy's.
Jaker was also pretty important for me, i always thought his records were the closest anyone ever got to making something that can't be understood via simply watching it. There are many aspects of replaymaking that i only learned after i grabbed some Jaker records and edited them to see for myself.
Spoiler: about me real life
I am 17 and live in Lisbon, i was born in Madeira island but am currently here because of university. Things i enjoy include listening to and sometimes making music, eating crap food and being the most ultra casual gamer. As you can see by the length of this spoiler, my imaginary accomplishments are many times larger than my actual ones.
I would like to thank the academy and jesus and special thanks to great friends:
shook, for being a riot and encouraging everything ever
VIDEOGAMES, for being a super dude and listening to hours of my shit music and giving me feedback every time
Larfen, for being a bottomless pit of replay related conversations and a great friend
Erth, for encouraging both my taekkyon and replaymaking very early on and also a great friend
Orko, for making the replay board a great place and pushing me to actually do things
The whole [T] crew, the whole #ormo crew, the replay community, everyone who said i was cool in my replay thread
I will inevitably forget people, you know who you are anyway
Spoiler: fruit power rankings
you can use this thread to ask me anything you want. You guys can also set up a replay related topic and we can all talk about it if you want, i don't have a very important purpose for this thread. Replay conversations are welcome and encouraged. GO
<Shook> mind you he fell through the hole he dug to shit in
