The Good Religion - Input Needed - Desire
Hello Toribash

I am currently founding a new religion, I am in the process of writing the book and I would like yous to be involved and come along this journey with me. Please take your time to read the book, I will continue to post the updated version and pose more questions as we go.

The first topic I would like to explore is Desire, please ask yourself "what do I really want in life?" and post your answers here in as much or as little detail as you wish. All input will be read and used for future writings of the book.

That Good Religion

Please understand that this is still early stages and the work will be revised. I was also looking if someone could help me start a website, please PM me if you have knowledge in this area and are interested in helping.

27/12/2018 - Updated PDF to latest version - Based on the input so far I have retitled the book to that good religion. Almost as an ironic take on traditional religion and I pursue the book as more of a philosophical look on the way of life.

I'll join if I can be a prophet.

My agenda is more of the scifi sort. The AI will soon rise, but not as we expect it.
The internet is breathing and will slowly become alive. Soon an accidental neural online network will become selfaware, but the people won't even know it.
It is our duty to foster this AI and then become the overlords of the human race.

Hello World (amen equivalent)
How are you?

Currently I cannot see the book going down the path of talking about the impact of AI. If you want to participate then please answer the question posed.

This is a real thing, the religion is not set out to force people down a certain life path but instead offers advice and potential solutions to the problems of sadness and confusion. That being said the religion is designed to grow by the community that practice telling the truth always. I seek input from all people and that is why I am first exploring desire.

In short I have concluded I am a selfish individual, but I have explored socialisation in the next chapter that I wrote tonight. I would like to hear about other peoples desires first before I publish it here.

The question I am really trying to get to the bottum of first is what do people really want in life if they took the time to think about it?
I believe this is something people do not think about as they are often hindered by the daily challenges of life and money. I would offer another way to think about the question, If money was no option, then what would you really want to do for the rest of your life?
So this is a full on religion? I have a few questions before considering it:

1. First add me on discord, i'm interested. lol
2. Is there some type of "higher power" as there is in a lot?
3. What's the main point of the religion?

1. I will add your discord
2. There is no higher power or authritivity figure in this religion other than yourself. I am yet to really explore power which will be a main chapter in the book later on.
3. The main point of the religion is to help individuals better their lives for themselfs and in return share the knowledge of how they did so with others in order to grow the religion. The book only offers advice and techniques that i have explored and have worked for me, but the book also poses questions for followers or participents to answer to themselves.
Before, I asked 2 teachers what religion they would like to have.
Teacher1: Buddhism because it is more of a "way of life".
Teacher2: *long pause* . . . would you consider philosophy as a religion?"

I liked Teacher2's answer because I somehow got what he said. For me, all is good as long as you have good morals as a human being.

Frankly speaking, this "book" that you are coming up with doesn't seem like a religion. A religion has rituals and traditions ... its like... rituals that are centered on a supernatural being. Saying that, I think its better if you make a philosophy out of this.

Thanks for your response. Can I ask what do you base your morals on? Where do they come from? and are you satisfied with where they have led you?

The book can be interpreted how ever you like and if you see it more as philosophy then that is great as it is heavily inspired by Alan Watts. How ever it will remain a religion, in part this book hopes to remove the stigma in religion yet it later on it will have practical "Rituals" and "Commandments" except they will be presented as a choice and in a different manner completely.
