So I'm playin with this dude, elo 1609, he's rank 412 and a green belt (gamernb)
I'm elo 1611 and rank 514, 2nd dan
why is that?

The game could have taken a while to reset yor ranks,
or you could have looked at the mod rank and overall rank.
Thats what i can think off that happend but idk.

Takes a day for your rank to update to your elo, that's what I've been told.

Elo works a bit strange, it is no bug or glitch, let's have that cleared up.

Your rank would probably get higher, or his rank lower, if you beat him. losing against someone with a higher rank obviously doesn't give you a better rank.

I have noticed after winning a large amount/ losing a large amount it takes a small amount of time (30 mins? an hour?) for the rank to fully change( calculating it maybe?). For the most part my rank changes after every match though.

EDIT: It could just be you seeing your ranks during the match while the Elo it shows you is the modified Elo.
