Your thoughts on anime
(Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I thought about it and I concluded this is where it should go imo)
So, anime. Japanese 'cartoon' style shows/movies/whatever.
I for one really enjoy watching anime, I find movies/shows with real actors boring. But I was talking to my friend about it, and he says that he hates it. He's seen anime which I recommended to him, but he couldn't even finish the series. He says: "Anime is worse than shows, 90% of it is freeze frames with only the background moving. Probably way 2deep4me"
So, do you or do you not like anime? Why or why not?

I like it. I watch a few of them but some just get me lost.. I also like some and can follow the story line.

Well, honestly, it depends on how good the storyline and art is (which is a matter of opinion).
I personally prefer anime that has a really good storyline, takes me through all of the feels, and some of the characters are decently attractive (currently watching To-love-ru darkness) including the males. Considering the fact that I'm a huge pervert, I'm also okay with a lot of the borderline hentai out there. But that's off-topic.
The bad side to some anime is when most of the characters look like shit, the storyline is pretty awful, when everything is awfully sequenced together (Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi), or when one or all of the characters are extremely annoying (when the characters say something or do something so retarded, you want to punch them instead of laugh at them. Or when you're like Kotegawa Yui). Some people give up on anime because of what it looks like. Some people just don't like the look of anime because most of them are... a little weird (some make you feel like you're watching an episode of MLP, makes you feel all weird inside).
In the end, it all depends on what you're in to and how you respond to the artists style. I'll never watch Death Note. Looks retarded, in my opinion.

With that said abouve most people don't watch it because people tell them that it's related to porn because most people who never heard of it only know it for porn since most of it is on the computer. (Regular anime and Hentai alike)
Most people won't watch it for the reason abouve.
I enjoy it and have yet to not finish a series besides.... the ones that are overly ecchi or overly stupid. Or just scare me or make me really sad.
But in all reality... I think I might be insane...
I'll be honest and say that anime was something that I was never really interested in.
3 or 4 years ago my friend told me about Azumanga Daioh, due to the fact that he had only just discovered it at the time. I had never seen him so fixated on something before, so I checked it out. However, after watching a couple of episodes I was hooked. Eventually I finished the whole series, although feeling like something inside me had just died. I then learned that the only bad things about most animes is when they come to an end... Lucky Star, Squid Girl and Nichujou are animes that I'm currently watching and I can honestly say that they're amazing.
So, from my personal experience it's understandable as to why someone who hasn't watched anime would be unsure about it because it's something that's completely different from most things on television. As Tamakuu stated, it depends what you're into.
