This is different from most connection errors please look at the error it gives before responding.

Ill bump this since im having the same error.
Yesterday it was fine and today morning i cant connect to servers cause of the socket error.
Im also unable to connect to irc so i guess its not a program error.
It says "irc.toribash.com refused to connecting.
i see this has been here for 2 hours and id hope to get anwsers faster since theres alot of helpsquad on my timezone.

I've had that problem for quite a while too, I keep searching the web for solutions but there isn't a single solution that could help me.

Reinstalling can't even work.

This usually means that there is a problem with a server rather than your own machine. Give it a few days and hopefully it will be fixed. Meanwhile make sure that you are correctly logged in with a newest password and just for the sake of it try both steam and standalone versions to see if you get the same error.

Some servers are experiencing issues as well as the IRC.
Problem is unknown but it is suspected to be a DDoS.
