Bump-map textures will give your textures a 3D look.

As you can see in that page linked by Fyerrblad:

This would be your bump-mapped texture:

nuthug is wearing bumpmapped textures, meet him and look.

nuthug doesnt have bumpmapped textures btw. its just called a good art job, with shading
