Windswept hair and bloodshot eyes (photoshop)
Hey guys i've learned a lot from you, so this is me paying it forward! :3

This is the end-product of both tutorials:

First off, windswept hair.

You see alot of solid chunky hair around toribash...Heres a different way of doing hair!

Before I get into it, this is mostly for beginners, I myself am a beginner and stumbled upon this about a week ago.

First open up a document 128x128 or 256x256 or whatever you want to work in, throw down your skin color.

Use rulers!! View->Rulers (or control r)

Drag your ruler out until it snaps to the middle

This is all you should have so far.

Now take out your pen tool and these should be your settings

Proceed by making sharp skinny lines in the direction you want your hair to flow
I got this:

Create a new layer and right click somewhere on your pen drawing and click fill path, select a color and fill it. And then right click on the path again and delete it.

Now right click on your hair layer and go to blending options and apply a drop shadow

So far it should look like this:

Now, go up to filter > blur > gaussian blur
and set it to 1.5

Now take a selection tool and select a small amount of the hair like this

copy and paste it, put that layer underneath the original hair layer and move it around to fill in the hair, you can apply a gaussian blur and drop shadow to that layer also. You can also stretch out the hair and make it longer and play around with it.. This is what I got

Thats pretty much it for the hair, just add layers and pull it and strech it and use drop shadow etc. this was my result

Here is a couple other examples of using this style:

And now:

Bloodshot eyes

Start by making a head of course, Ill use the same one In the last tutorial

Take out your pen tool and shape your eyes right click on the shape and fill it with white, then add the pupil.

Duplicate that layer, go to edit > transform > flip horizontal

Move the second eye to your desired location (normally I just push it out with shit + the right arrow key about twice)

merge those two layers (control E)

go to blending options and give them a stroke with 1 or 2 pixels

Now right click on your eye layer (on the picture) and click on select pixels

Create a new layer and fill that selection with red (make sure your background color is white)

Now go to filter>render>fibers

Mess around with the settings till you get what you like

Click ok and then set that layer to multiply, this is what you should have

This is what it will look like in 3d

Hope you guys enjoyed these tutorials!

If you used either of these tutorials please vote in the poll, id like to know if this was easy for you guys to follow or not.
