Considering the device used in SAO was able to use senses like taste and smell (You were able to taste things when you ate them in the game, and were able to smell things in the game). I'm almost positive that's not possible (yet), but everything is possible.

however from the look of it, it would be still a long away to make it as a standalone game. Since they still need to full body scan the player firsthand and renderize it. Although the renderize itself still not perfect yet, there are still some of glitch

so at this point all we can do is do a throughout research and hoping for the best
