Tutorial & Resource Thread.
Hey so, I thought it'd be a good idea if we had a spot to share any nice tutorials/resources we might have found.

Also making this thread because I'd like to know if anyone knows a good resource for shading techniques with pens (Starting to prefer pens over pencils). I've tried to find some myself, but have been having difficulty. I typically in my sketchbook which is a paper-bag shade of brown, so I can't use empty space as highlights as easily. Main problem is that my hatching doesn't seem to work well for spheres.

I'll start off with this really cool pixel art tutorial. Also goes over some good concepts: http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/foru....asp?TID=11299

Gonna throw some more in later. Would love to see what ref's, you folks use

In 2016, I'm no longer a member of toribash forum. The ex-administration (who's permbanned now) used to power abuse and opposed to me, and we are unable to reach a compromise. I am morally prohibited from staying here. I might still posting around on my friend or clan threads sometimes but not much. Goodbye.
Ah that how to draw beef one is really interesting. Gonna have to browse through the rest later.

I've been hearing bit and pieces of something called the rule of threes, anyone know what that is? (Not to be confused with rule of thirds). I know it involves establishing a back, fore, and middleground. Along with having values/hues shift between them, but have no solid idea of what it really is.

five point actually looks simpler to follow construction than three point. its just using the compass that makes it a little more interesting/annoying to draw
good lord three point perspective screws with your eyes, its just a whole mess of lines.

From "scratch" drawing video I found. Seems decently interesting. Gotta try following it sometime (Probably not helpful to all of you folks).

also sycra is really good to look at,

Much rather look at something like this than those stuck up old dusty farts

Also guys, I'm looking for something interesting to model next in 3D, I want to make something a little bit more advanced, preferably something that combines human modeling with mechanical modeling or just pure mechanical modeling alone.
Something that really is a challenge, that I can enjoy working on for a couple of weeks.
Any ideas?

Sycra is really good to look. Albeit I've always felt he was a bit slow at explaining things. But he does cover a wide range of topics in good detail.

Didn't realize I never posted FZD's channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/FZDSCHOOL/videos

Ezeth are you looking for just concepts, or perhaps actual concept art? A power suit could be an interesting thing to design.
