What is better?
AMD Phenom II (Quad Core 3.2 GHZ)
or
Intel i5??

Im buying a processor but I dont know wich one to buy.
depends on what model both the i5 and the phenom II are

both the i5 and the phenom II series cpu's have different models that have varying performances
You don't say?

I recommend Intel over AMD any day, and I've had processors from both. So my suggestion is go with the I5
a quadcore @3.2 is very powerful.

I have to say, I don't think any of the i5 series have that much grunt (except the sandy bridge ones, which personally I would not recommend AT THE MOMENT).
I think Im going for the AMD Phenom II.
Gorman is right.

@Devil1337 The i5 I saw was a dual core.
Dual Core is better than Quad?

As far as processors being sold here, i5 is quad core.
Not every i5's got a quad.
Still, AMD is pretty bad IMO, I'd go for the i5.

Well what phenom are your talking about and what intel i5? There are lots of different i5s, some are dual some are quad, Also im assuming you mean 1156 not 1155 right?

more cores = better

Thats a pretty basic way of looking at it some people have no use for more than 2 cores.

lol'd at intel fanboys, anyway, amd is pretty cool, and you'll get a better price for their cpus, I'd say go with the AMD, but a decent quad core i5 won't be bad either.
