USA deserves it? USA =/= Innocent people participating in a marathon.
That's like a parent doing something wrong, and then some random person hitting the parent's child for it.

Uh, no.

What's there to discuss about? It's just terrorists doing what they do. It will keep happening and there's nothing we can do but pray.

Plus, apparently there was a third explosion/fire in a library near the area, but it isn't linked?
There was another incident about five miles away in the JFK library. Yeah, it's most likely linked, the authorities are for the moment treating it as linked, but they have to "speculate" until it is proven.

There isn't a huge amount to discuss this early on. Pretty disgusting attack on an international event.

@Jewww: Pretty sure you're just trying to be edgy, but that's a pretty ignorant opinion to have. Single people are not held accountable for the actions of a country.

No they're not. You're either a liar or you're just ignorant. The fire that broke out at the JFK library was unrelated. A spokesman for the library confirmed this hours ago.

A horrible event. Senseless and brutal. I was just as disgusted, though, by the media coverage. How many of you heard about the bombings in Iraq that occured around the same time? 50 dead, 200 wounded. In Australia, this story appeared as rolling text at the bottom of the screen, while highlight reel footage of the Boston bombings was played for hours.

The selective outrage is sickening.

My mistake. Just woken up, didn't catch that update. Thanks for the clarification.

Edit: For the most part though, I pretty much agree with you. Capitalist media can be hugely frustrating at times. This might sound a little insensitive but perhaps the Boston bombing will insight some compassion for the Iraq events. Which will in turn lead to more unbiased coverage of recent events, that might be naively optimistic of me though.

I heard about all this on my way to therapy today (gee how swell, seeing as I have panic attacks about these type of things).

Anyways, this topic didn't really catch my eye, it was the comment Jewww made and I have one thing to say about it. Are you mentally retarded? Not one single, innocent person in the USA (nor anywhere) deserves something this traumatic to happen to them.
Not trying to bash you on your opinion because everyone is entitled to them, but yours is quite possibly the most idiotic thing I've ever heard and yes, you should feel bad about saying it.

Matters about the topic now. At the time of first hearing it the casualty count was two dead and 30(?) wounded. And now I'm hearing various other things, so I think we just need to let this settle and develop to get a better understanding.

Specialists do say it was most likely a terrorist attack (as first speculation was).

"A terrorism expert briefed on the investigation said doctors are "pulling ball bearings out of people in the emergency room," suggesting the bombs were designed to propel shrapnel."

A quote from a CNN article I was just reading on the web.

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

(I know not much of this)

Simple Doesn't Mean Its Easy
Sad, and jewww no one derserves to be killed , not even other people that are u.s.a enemies,

you need to realize that its very tragic with "death" involved because theres no god. so everyone life is innocent. this is why i don't kill bugs, they also have one life, I let them run free because thats the nature of life
so when you kill Human/bug/animals you are basicly "ENDING" their only life

Ah but in my eye I view it as - You start wars with others & drag us aussie folk into it and we lose men & women because we are sided with you...WE DON'T deserve to be there...You mess with the wrong people and they die as do we..
Rythm smells like Cheese

So fuck off and don't be allies with us then. Australia chooses to aid the USA. It's not like we're forcing you under a contract. That explosion was a tragedy and its not something to be laughing about and no country deserves for that to happen to it. Those people were all innocent civilians and have nothing to do with your little alliance bullshit.
