Bringing back Tori Agents
in my opinion, we should just bring back Toriagents, it would be a good choice in my opinion, have like a "ingame moderator" type deal, where they make sure everything is in check, make sure there isnt alts, and other stuff.

This discussion derailed from Alts in Beginner Rooms suggestion: http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=587773

Yet another reason to bring back ToriAgents. How many more do you need? This is getting a bit silly procrastinating for so long..

Adding yet another staff group wouldn't make things any better.

I can't help but agree with Sir in this situation. HS should just get all the rights to infract alts and the problem would be solved with that. If ToriAgents get brought back then HS would sort of lose purpose to supervise beginner rooms and TA would only take over most of what we're doing now.

I don't think it would really be a problem to elect/find a person in charge of this group in that case. For all I know every HS member is a mature person with no intentions to abuse their power or such, the person in charge would probably only be required as mentor or such to teach the new rules/duties.

The Help Squad are forum based, and the ToriAgents are ingame-based, spreads the load, and makes sure the people recruited are the right people for the exact job, rather than finding someone who is alright at all the little bits. ToriAgents has been put off for too long, there is nothing wrong with it, I don't understand why they are being deferred like it's going to ruin the entire system.

Finding an outdated quotation to "prove" your thoughts doesn't actually make you right, sorry. Staff members probably know what they do a little bit better; if you're being told that current HS duties are basically the same as those of TAs, it means that they are. They have access to beginner lobby, they sit there and help people, the only little difference is that they're not given halfop.

The point is, it is not what they were designed for. The Help Squad wasn't intended to work both in game and in forums, so why are you adding on extra pressures, when you already know the vast majority of the community want the return of the very group who were covering this job? You are adding less pressure on your staff, which in turn will raise staff retention rate, as there is slower burnout, whilst giving people more chance to help, moderate and help the community? Can you just not be bothered? It is clear a vast amount more want it to happen than not, so why are you fighting the community?

TAs' original job wasn't to serversit in beginner rooms, I hope you know that. They started doing it and changed from an "ingame police" group to "beginner helpers" when it became clear that the latter aids the community more. Same is happening to HelpSquad - they were a mostly forum-based group, now they're combining their old duties with helping new users in beginner lobby. Once again, quality usually overweighs quantity (and this case is no exception) - I highly doubt that adding more staff groups is going to be beneficial unless there is a job that really stands out from all what current staff has.

People asking for TAs now are either people who didn't manage to get in ES / HS and now think it's their chance or those who don't know what current HS duties are. If the only thing you care about is the group name and not what it actually does, why would your ideas be considered?

Both of these are in game, they are in game specialists, they always were, you have just accepted that yourself. People that reside in the forums, and are strong in that field, are not always the best candidates for in-game activity. Look at the vast majority of top level players. They are essentially extinct on the forums and insanely active and skilled in game. You are immediately cutting off all of these applicants. And getting forum based members of the community to teach people how to play the game.

The words 'usually' and 'highly doubt' suggests that you are relying on chance with a blindsight of the alternatives. This is not good. You are forcing in game jobs on members of the community who were recruited mainly for their forum capability. This is not quality. If you want to teach beginners, get people who can play the game, not people who can moderate boards, the two don't interlink.

More assumptions and usually's? I couldn't care less what the name of the group is, and my ideas should be considered because they aren't just my ideas,

hmm

What do you lose from implementing ToriAgents, or an individual group with the same agenda?

You're mixing up Uniteam/Unibash and TA. Toriagents' job was to give simple guidance on game and forum basics, that doesn't require being a "pro".
If you want to be taught, you want to be taught by the best, not some staff member from the forums, even if it's basics. You don't recruit the same team to to run two completely different things. That's common sense.

The question remains, what do you lose?
