I like what your going for, and I know most of the heads on chibi's are rather large compared to others, but when the head is quite large, there's a lot of hair that covers it so it does look too big
but i'm a horrible teacher/explainer when it comes to art
although, this was one of the things I used to get better when I started
and if it clears it up for you, I do all my art work on paper then just transfer it to the computer with a copier.
