Problems with menu

I have a problem with toribash. My game runs smoothly even with max video quality, but when I use menus (like mods, game rules, options but not the main menu) it runs really slowly (I move the mouse and the cursor moves 3 seconds later)
Does anyone know about this problem and how to solve it?
P.S. does anyone know when will version 4.0 be released?
