Essentially, people with experience wrote those sites that you call "confusing", so we don't know how to explain it in layman's terms.

Start on small things, if you've never done anything like it before then it will obviously be hard. You just have to keep workin at it though, I'm sure there is tons of resources scattered around youtube and the internet, you can learn if you try.
