contrast, color, texture and expression makes it more interesting,
try this 4 combined in a head and you will achieve a better result, just dont over do it.

The only thing that bugs me its the highlights on the borders of the chin
its kinda weird
and a facial expression would give it more life to the head I think

Is interesting looking. Those lines are really fat though, be careful with that. Plus your lighting and shading could use some blending.

i think it's because you started in grey monotones, but looks like you could use
some warmer colors.

Really liked the way you made it without mirroring any part of it.

The beard is kind of too plain in my opinion, It looks like a tape on his face. I mean cartoon is close to doodle, maybe? Different kind of colors mixed into one and thus from what I see all you did is just giving a shading on the beard part, just made a little bit darker on the bottom side. Well it's your style and I think it doesn't really look that bad.

Adding an additional mini beard like you did on the hair would be nice, It would looks more like a beard since you made the hair that way (with additional hair part) like the black lines or such.

Also the scar is a little bit too flat, It looks like a pencil's stroke. Adding a little shading would be nice.

Also, I should learn english more so I could express my feeling in a more detailed and also understandable ways. Damn, my cnc is weird.

I wold suggest using references on wich style of manga you wish to draw,
it could be realistic,cartoon shading, etc.

the head looks okay, you still canpolish more, and use polar coordinates for hair top area, it will help a lot.
