The last thing i want to see is people begging for rep in every fucking post..

Asked about it once and i did get some links from the old forums.

I've roamed many forums other than the toribash forums, most of which had reputation systems.

I noticed that everyone was strict about his/her rep, and most of those people were doing art/videos/other stuff just to gain more rep points. Which made the forums more active.

I joined the community after the rep system was removed, but I would love to see what it can do if it came back.
<&Erth> fagm <&Erth> duck <&Erth> *fuck
Fagm duck fuck everyone.

Rep system sucked.
The reputation someone had rarely reflected how much reputation they deserved. Unless it's brought back with a tweaked system (a good well thought out tweaked system) I am completely against it coming back.
yep sure.

it was a nice idea and I liked it ;)

btw I guess some people are more kind and friendly with the rep system.

Rep was the worst thing ever to happen to the Toribash community... 3 times.

I think people forget just how bad it was. Please stop re-adding it just so we can all rage then remove it the week after.

EDIT: By the way, there have been more than 1 rep system implemented so not sure which one precisely you want back?
Well first off, in my honest opinion rep systems are pointless. I mean, ooh, a little number, the only people it would strive to get a higher rep would be the really active people now, 'cause I know I wouldn't. In most sites, I hate rep systems. Why? Because you will get people selling stuff, and say "When you buy, add rep" and shit like that. I -hate- stuff like that, because it's a capitalistic system: you're not helping others because you're a nice guy, you're helping others for more points, for something extra, which I find abhorrent in people. Plus you'll get people who will only do stuff for rep points, or making dupe accounts just to add rep. Adds a lot of needless hassle IMO.

I do not think a rep system is the way to go for forum.toribash.com, something else maybe, but not a rep system.

:>

Only problem with the rep system is that people farmed it like crazy.

Yeah, pretty much.
the inner machinations of my mind are an enigma
The inherant problem with the rep system, as has been stated before, was that people farmed it.
As soon as it was re-introduced a little while ago, people would just farm it and within days be able to gloat at the sheer amount of rep they had, when they didn't deserve it.
Not only that, but often people would just rep up their friends, and forget about other people. Regardless of whether they deserved it (or they were even trying to farm it) or not.
In addition, i can imagine people who frequently posted in discussion got disproportional amounts of rep change.
If people disagreed with what the other person said, then their way of countering, without writing an argument would be to down-rep that person, who may just be expressing their view in a totally legit way.
Having said that, if it could be harnessed properly, then i think it could be quite cool.
For example, every time you gave someone rep you had to put a reason, and so it took a bit longer to give rep.
Also if the reason was 1 word or something, you could have some kind of mod reverse it.
Although i imagine that would be terribly time consuming.

Yeah, I only don't like erthtkv2 because of the mod's name. Make it "tkv2," and the mod will instantly become more popular. This is a valid reason as the name of the mod is still an important feature that no one seems to have yet discussed.
