Toribash Crashes
Q: Toribash is crashing on startup for me, how can I solve this?
A: There are three common solutions to this problem:
  • Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version.
  • If you have an ATI, Intel or SIS GPU's (Graphics Processing Unit); Alter the memory management settings.
  • Update SDL to the latest library.

To update your drivers and to find out what graphics card (GPU) you use:

To solve memory management problems (Only for ATI, Intel or SIS GPU's):

To update SDL:
Download the latest library.
Extract from it the file sdl.dll to the Toribash folder and overwrite the existing sdl.dll.
(The default installation location for Toribash is "C:/Games/Toribash-3.9/")

If you use an ASUS graphics card:
ASUS GamerOSD has been reported to cause Toribash to crash, you should disable it when running Toribash.

Q: Toribash runs for a bit and then crashes, what can I do to stop this?
A: This is normally due to out-of-date drivers, or poor memory management for ATI, Intel or SIS GPU's (Graphics Processing Unit).

To update your driver and to find out what graphics card (GPU) you use:

To solve memory management problems (Only for ATI, Intel or SIS GPU's): (section E)

Q: Toribash is still crashing, how can I get more help?
A: Post here and include the contents of your stderr.txt file, which solutions you tried, what GPU your computer uses, and anything else you think is relevant.

Hi, Toribash crashes on startup and I don't know why. I've tried all the above solutions and they don't work. Also, I don't think my Toribash has a SDL.dll file, is it supposed to? I'm running on a Macbook Pro, it has Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and the graphics card thing is as follows:

NVIDIA GeForce 320M:

Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 320M
Type: GPU
Bus: PCI
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
Device ID: 0x08a0
Revision ID: 0x00a2
ROM Revision: 3533
Color LCD:
Resolution: 1280 x 800
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB888
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes
Built-In: Yes
Display Connector:
Status: No Display Connected

I don't even know what that means but yeah. This is the thing that pops up when Toribash crashes:

Process: Toribash [928]
Path: /Applications/Toribash/
Identifier: Toribash
Version: 3.99 (3.99)
Code Type: X86 (Native)
Parent Process: launchd [100]

Per-App Crashes Since Last Report: 10
Anonymous UUID: DD66667B-9EA3-4EB2-98BB-3F85ABA0A623

Data... lots and lots of data

Please help!

EDIT: Also, I don't know what's with the faces!
