You know what they say. "Children never turn out the way you want them to." This is also assuming your kid's mother has no say in any of this, and that society won't assist in him/her becoming something you didn't expect.

Errmm, I have around 15-20 posts in Wibbles. And also I wouldn't call a whole lot of the tb players "adults", considering the older ones are around 20-25 (Edit: Except RedDevil who is supposedly 40 ) and alot of people that old can still be immature, and alot of toribash players of that age are.

T1cux: clan have eggs.
RedDevil is 27, and just because you only have 15-20 posts in wibbles doesn't mean you go there and read the crap that's flying around there. I'm not saying you do, but it's a possibility. Also, I didn't call anyone adults. The kids here will eventually turn into adults, that's what I was implying.
Hey. I'd let my kid on the net. I would however, be a complete douchebag about and probably join the same community if it was to my taste at all. I'd encourage proper spelling and acting maturely on the net. I believe that anonymity on the internet isn't the greatest thing ever. I act how do I in real life, how I would expect others to treat me. I don't have the 'they can't do anything to me' mentality and I'd never want my kid to either. I believe the internet is rather valuable, for instance: I think through the net and promo-team for sure my leadership skills have developed and I've gotten better at communicating and interacting with different people. Eg: Relating terrible people in my HPE class to sore losers on Heroes of Newerth. However, money is and always will be an issue with family. Whether or not my kid would have it from an early age would depend on that.

Ugh. Basing my opinions off of MY experience with the internet, it's safe to say the leash wouldn't be very tight.

I would inadvertently raise my kids as gamers, so they probably just do gamer shiz. Maybe watch some vids, look up mods, etc.

The day some crazy shit goes down (porn i guess) then I'll start stomping kittens, so to speak. I'd get some parental software, but only for the kids that were overstepping there bounds. Then all would be right in the world. Until those pricks find out how to bypass it with hax.

If i had kids i don't think i'd have problems with them watching porn on the internet. In fact i wouldnt really care what they watched, as long as they had a life off the computer as well.

I think a computer addiction would be far more harmful than being exposed to a few shocksites and "internet crap". So long as they weren't doing it for hours every day, i'd be chill with almost anything i think.
I'd let my kids on the net.

most kids, by the age of ten, aren't stupid enough to click ads. the majoruty also still thinks a naked women, is gross.

Would I watch him? not really. I'd pass by every now and then. he's only ten.

I'd trust him well enough to do what he wanted to, but if I ever found a serious problem, like he was making a bomb or drugs, I would shoot the computer.

as for porn, as long as he knew what he was watching, and didn't get......hooked on it.
I would prefer that he didn't see porn at all, but depending on the level of it, I would more have that, father-son talk.
My seniority means you should probably just agree with everything I say
Listen, if your kid is only 10 years old and on the internet, you should at least watch what he's doing. I'm the kind of guy who likes to pick on little kids (On the internet).
He may be smart enough to avoid ads but is he smart enough to understand the internet?
[10:17][10:50] <diskimage> Where can I find the Toribash license?
That's true. Most kids are taught to avoid ads around that age but aren't explained what else is on the net. Things that are more important than ads. Like porn. And Toribash.
