So I've been producing for a year now, I mainly produce Drum and Bass but im thinking of focusing on some other stuff too since, IMO, I'm starting to develop my own style a little bit and that style should fit with some slower 4/4 stuff. I use Ableton Live 9 for producing.

This is my soundcloud:

This is my last song which is sort of going to the style I was talking about:

https://soundcloud.com/dzajkoo/beyond-the-sky

Hope you like it.

I've been producing for about a year now, but I've properly been devoting myself to it for about 4/5 months. I enjoy all kinds of genres that reside within Jazz/Trap/Future Bass/RnB/Gospel, and I attempt to make that kinda stuff. I currently use FL Studio (a.k.a Fruity Loops) and my laptop to produce but I have shown Ableton Live a little bit of love.

Hey that is pretty good, find it hard to believe youve been doing that properly only for few months, the production quality is very good. But yeah, top notch shit.

Fine work, sounds like you're doing quite well then. Work sounds extremely good for only a few months, what made you get into music production?

Accepted. Feel free to post that new song when you feel it's done!

So hi there. I start make a music in 2010, although it's already a long time ago actually I'm still pretty newbie at it and only have a pretty little knowledge about music, so yeah I'm still need to learn more. Most of my stuffs are Trance which I usually got inspired by games OST but I made a couple of Hardcore Techno too. I used FL Studio to make the musics and still learning about it.

Here's some of my stuffs :

Fair, not to worry about not making stuff for some time. If you're still interested in it then hopefully this org can be a good place to bounce ideas off other members, and get some inspiration. If you're using FL studios, this org might work well for you then.

Accepted, make something new and show us when you do!

What you produce. whatever i listen to and think sounds cool, which is usually and so far mostly ambient techno, ambient or occasionally idm. other edm genres like breakbeat drum and bass or techno also cool

How long you've been producing. i actually dont remember but probably like almost 3 years

What you use to produce. ableton live

A sample of your work, and where we can hear more!

i "released" an "album" but psst between u and me, its actually just a bunch of songs that i made and that sound the same
https://pusga.bandcamp.com/ (if you dont want to listen to the whole thing, mortgaertalo and jupiter seem to be favourites)

you can find most of my smaller experiments in my soundcloud
i actually removed most of the stuff i dont like from it, which was about 70% (most of it wasnt even mastered properly anyway)

these are old but i havent done anything this year yet so its appropriate
https://soundcloud.com/pusga/13-pieces-drone-mix 20 minute ambient/drone and i know this is a stupid idea but i actually like it and listened to the whole thing multiple times
https://soundcloud.com/pusga/sick ambient techno (?)
https://soundcloud.com/pusga/going-u...-like-shit-now breaks

ps my ability to genre tag myself in this post is probably terrible because i never really associated myself with any particular genre besides "music that i think sounds good", if you want a more specific description of the music i usually make i can try harder.

Yeah I don't worry too much about genres either. If you're producing, having a genre in mind I feel might narrow down what you're willing to try in music anyway.

Accepted, I feel like if people post some stuff you'll be able to give them some good advice.

Glad to see more people applying, I'll add you all to the list when I get back home.

If I missed your app I'll post about it soon.

Sweet, glad to hear you use Abelton. Maybe you can help out some fellas here who end up having questions about that program.

Cool sound by the way, full of energy.

Accepted, I think you'll be a great addition.

SAME!
Actually I never good at determining what kind of genre my music is, I only make what in my head and what I think sounds good. Because yeah, now there's so many music branches of sub genres from from a genre, so if I'm gonna determining a genre of my music, usually I just say EDM because I think it's the top of the genre of this kind of music.

I can't really remember, but I do know that I listened to EDM for a long time before I actually wanted to start producing. My interest in producing started with finding out about Wave Racer and this whole "Future Bass" craze. Then my tastes developed and I am where I am now. Also I don't really know, I guess I just have a good growth rate?

Either that or he'll THROW HIS TALENTS AWAY FOR SOME SHIT JOB
hey guys hows it goin
Welcome to the org, hope you all enjoy your stay
How do you balance your knowledge of audio enginering and uh.. the actual making of the music... if that makes sense..?
I'm really bad at making fancy sounds, I'm a nexuskid.
PM me with any and all questions
https://soundcloud.com/hindsightseei...alone-workprog

Im gonna jump in here and ask for some feedback on the WIP. Only a part of the song since who has time to listen to whole songs.
The vocals have quite a lot of work still to be done with, some backing vocals and volume automations and re-records. But in general, what do you guys think mixing/songwise. Any pointers?

I don't think of the as separate things anymore, alot of the composition in modern music is about the sounds themselves, so I think looking at them separately is harmful to the actual production.

edit: re recording the vocals all together today

Lmao. dw I won't sell out and make big room :^)
Also I think the technical aspect isn't as important as the actual ideas. Learn stuff like mixing and stuff on the side but don't ever lose your creative side because thats what makes your tracks.

I agree with this. When I'm working on a song, I spend most of the time creating sounds and during this I'll also start thinking about where I want to use each sound (Basic song structure thoughts, I guess).
Once I'm happy with a sound, I'll take care of the mixing related stuff for this sound, as in stereo placement, volume, EQing etc.
Eventually I just have to put all those elements together and the song is pretty much done, beside of some minor adjustments or some changes if I think that a certain sound could be replaced with something better.
So I'd say that it's all just one huge process.

@Cowmeat: I've been listening to that song earlier today and I've just been listeing to your new version. Mixing wise, I'd say that the song sounds quite good as it is.
