yea but it doesnt work all the time. most champs have a good way of slowing you down or speeding up or just sioning you.

Which is why you use the e to fizzle it.
The stun or slow usually isn't instantaneous, so you can e while the projectile is in mid-flight to cancel the spell. Add the double flash it just provided you and you should be well out of harm's reach.
And if you're in the situation where that double jump didn't save you, you were either overextended, or they turret dived you, both usually resulting in an inevitable death without some tricky juking using your q, e and bushes.
