Windows Defender SmartScreen
So, I was getting back into this game when, as I was trying to open the new version, Windows SmartScreen flagged it, should I be worried, I don't remember getting this from the last version I played.
You have nothing to worry about. Windows Defender SmartScreen is just an application used to try and detect malware or harmful files. This will go off whenever it has a reason to believe an application/file is risky, and there are a lot of small things that can trigger it. Toribash has been installed by millions, and not a single person has claimed the files can harm your computer. You can definitely feel safe downloading the game from either steam or the standalone client.

The editor that Windows detects as the signature is Unknown, plus, why does the setup need administrator privileges, downloading from "https://toribash.com/downloads.php" which hosts the file on "https://toribash.com/download"
I'm not 100% sure, all firewall applications are different and I don't use that one myself. However it's not uncommon for a firewall to ask for admin permissions when installing something. Firewalls are just very strange sometimes and will warn you for little to no reason. I know that doesn't seem very helpful, but my computer has done this when downloading even larger and more well-known games. It happens to me with blizzard games often. If you're having issues installing Toribash, this link may help. https://www.advancedinstaller.com/pr...appearing.html

Also try checking to see if you have two instances of toribash in your files. If you do, you should delete them both and re install because that may be confusing your computer.

As for why the signature is detecting Toribash as unknown, I don't have an answer. Firewalls are just very strange sometimes, and if you know you can trust a game then you can overlook the warnings its telling you 90% of the time.

It's part of the Windows' attempt to make manual app distribution inconvenient, standalone version of Toribash doesn't come signed with a certificate so SmartScreen doesn't like it. As long as you download it from toribash.com everything should be fine, it's ok to ignore the notice.
why does the setup need administrator privileges

Admin privileges are required to install the required VS C++ runtime redistributable if it's missing and to associate Toribash mod/file extensions + Toribash URLs with the game client.

Alternatively, you can download Toribash from Steam - that way it won't care about the signature.
