Bumpmapped Head!
It was a long time figuring out tangent normal mapping for Blender (my favored 3d application)

Normal mapping is what toribash 3.2x uses for bumpmaps.

Here is a rough preview of what I got after baking a normal map of my head


And this is the normal map I generated.



It's not much of a look, but normal mapping is there.

I may one day write a tutorial for this, but for now I'll just put on my hater-picture.

Don't post a tut, let them figure it out. I know how from skinning, but, a google search will teach them. I normal mapped my head too.

Yep, I'm not posting that until my need to teach overpowers me.

Phong, specmaps, what else do we want to slow this game down =)

HDRI lighting, bloom effects, trilinear filtering, motion blur, particle effects

What is bumbpmapping anyways?
I dont notice anything special about it.
It doesnt even change the shape of the head its just flat like normal.

You don't have to use the jointhingy for bumpmapping the head :X

It does, but I just let the programmers know I appreciate it even if it does.....

Av: Use 5x5 and up to make it bump farther. It will give it an enhanced effect.



Also, it really makes a difference in models with detail. I'm getting a screen up now.
