Well, I love the PSX era, and I still play some games of the 90s. But my favorite one, of all time is Chrono Cross. This game is perfect in every single way, the music, the background, the atmosphere.

Yeah, that game was awesome.

You'd just end up being all "huh, didn't know that existed" etc if I decided to pipe in.

But anyway.
I'm consciously aware that I've completely forgotten about Megagan X2.
(Long Story Short) It's pretty awesome too.

And as for my Pokemon Yellow..
I finally caught mew, woo.
I'm assuming retro games are before '07 then.
If not, bite me.

So;

N64

Sega Dreamcast

Yeah, I only have one game that I like on the dreamcast.
Sonic A2 and A1 are too glitchy for me, rather play the pc or gamecube ports.
I could put street fighter or something in there, but 2generic4me.

Old Pc

All I have atm, will add moar later.

meh, if we talking about consoles - nes, sega and 3do most likely become retro these days.

btw, it's funny thing that most of psx games i played are still more complex than modern ones.

well here goes my list of "retro" games for psx

i may try to come up with list of sega / nes games but i don't think it will feature much original titles.

PSX list
these are the game i recomment to play anyone who want to risk and try out psx games nowdays. only greatest ones.

well known

mgs 1
best game i ever played in whole my entire lifetime. complex level design, great story, multiple endings, great save / hint mechanics, mind blowing interaction with player. most of current gen games don't live up to standarts of that game and imagine how mindblowing was that in 1998.

resident evil 1-2
played only these ones, but since i was scared shitless i droped it, but games are great.

need for speed high stakes
probably best nfs game untill underground

spyro 1-3
open world 3d adventure

crash 1-3
3d arcade. 2nd and 3rd are the greatest

tekken 3
i prefer tekken over sf and mk series due chained combos.

medal of honor 1-2
last missions were completely batshit and i loved it ;)

briliant but not so popular

legacy of kain ( 3d don't remember the name correctly )
greatest adventure/exploration game i ever played. dark, not cartoonish, serious.

tomb raider 1-3
enermous size of levels, traps and secrets. also hard as nails.

medievil 2
undead cartoonish but dark adventure with dozens of secrets, bosses, game mechanics and logic elements and collecting souls ;) . kind of dark souls but waaaaaaaaay more siple.

sheep, dog n wolf
3d adventure, logic. you are tasked to steal a sheep in 17 different levels and you need to come up with tons of creative tricks to get it done. simply amazing.

tombi 2
3d platformer, adventure, exploration
HUGE open world, TONS of secrets, quests, items, transformations, etc etc. one of the greatest platformers i ever played.

hugo: black diamond fever
hugo: quest for sunstones
3d arcade, adventure
similar to crash, don't have unlockable abilities, but very interesting and sometimes challenging.

bushido blade 2
very original ?fingting? samurai game where you can kill or be killed in one strike.

spec ops 1-3
hardcore military games for ps 1. loved and completed all 3 of them with dad.

Blood Omen or Soul Reaver? Both are good, though if it's the latter get the Dreamcast version instead of PS1, it's better in pretty much every way.

Shame that series started getting crap towards the end. Better sticking with the earlier ones IMO.

Super Smash Bros
Perfect Dark
Silent Hill
Star Wars:Shadows of the Empire
Turok
Quake
Unreal championship
Bloody Roar
Ohhhh yea. Super smash bros. That was so friggin fun.
Raptor: call of the shadows (as said by shook) was a big part of my childhood.
I also played Golden sun, spyro adventures, smw and pokemonemerald on my GBA. Dunno if that's retro enough though.
Alzo chrono trigger, SSF, Mortal Kombat, Yoshi's island...
And finally, pacman on my windows 95. Retro enough for you?
