Salutations young recruit!

Fresh off the boat from training camp I see, I trust you are quite prepared for the real deal? You are? Good!

Welcome to the ToriTeam Class recruitment desk, what class will you be joining? ...You haven't chosen a class yet?! Well, get to choosing! The spots are filling up fast!

You can either join the Demo, Mech, Tank, Medic, Pyro, Comm, Sniper, Soldier or Spy. Make your choice! I hear the battle will soon be underway!

You'll be entering one of the 9 ToriTeam classes, and competing in matches with opposing classes to ultimately eliminate them from the battle.

How do I sign up? No problem! Post in this thread, clearly stating "I want to join X class" and then send join request for the appropriate social group.
What's the difference between the classes anyway? The classes are quite different from one another! Simply check the "Class Specifics" to see for yourself!
I've signed up, what do I do now? Easy! Wait for the sign-ups to finish and then get together with your fellow class members, and do battle with the opposing classes! But before you do, make sure to read the rules and understand how the matches work.

Remember: attempting to join two classes at once will result in you being removed from the event!

Rules

MAIN RULES:
1. First 10 people to post for their class, get to fight. They will be known as the Main Force
2. Anyone who wants to join after that will be part of the Backup Force. The Backup Force has no limit, if someone from the Main Force goes inactive or forfeits then the first person to sign up for the Backup Force will take his place.
3. After sign ups once you have chosen your class, you cannot change. No exceptions. Choose wisely. At the end of sign-ups everybody who is in more than 1 group will be kicked from all groups.
IF YOU PICK A CLASS AND ARE IN THE MAIN FORCE, YOU CANNOT CHANGE CLASS. IF YOU END UP IN BACKUP FORCE YOU CAN CHANGE CLASS TO ANOTHER ONE THAT STILL HAS SLOTS IN MAIN FORCE.
4. GM team has the right to change any part of the event to ensure quality and balance of the event.
5. The event will be divided into cycles. Every cycle will last 24h, and the beginning of the first cycle will be announced after sign-ups. At the end of the cycle all fights are counted up and HP of every class is updated. Special abilities of certain classes can be activated with the beginning of cycle and the cooldown begins when the cycle ends.
6. Any class that begins a cycle with 0 or less HP is killed and no longer takes part in the event. RIP.
7. Decision about activating special abilities and selecting their target is taken by the main force by voting in a special thread on the forum of their class's social group.
8. Every 3 cycles activity check is made - players who didn't do 2 duels between that time will be kicked from the team. Before it happens one can forfeit his spot and move to the last place in backup force. His spot in main force will be taken by 1st person in backup queue.
9. After 10 changes in the main force, the class receives penalty of 10 HP damage. Every further change deals 1 dmg / change. When main force is less than 10 people, 20 games must be fought every 3 days by entire team or else games "belonging to blank slots" are considered lost and deal 1 damage each.
10. Alt accounts are not allowed in the event. You can enter the event with ONLY ONE ACCOUNT. Breaking this rule will result in you being disqualified from the event, your prizes invalidated and involved accounts being banned. Additional punishments might apply.

BATTLE RULES:
1. By entering the event, you are obliged to sportsmanlike behaviour and fair play.
2. Every fight is to be a best of three duel (first to two wins). Any mod is allowed as long as both players agree to it. If players want to duel but cannot mutually decide a mod, they should ask a GM to randomly pick one for them.
3. After each fight, the winner should record the game here on the event thread with a replay. Alternatively screenshots of the duel may be provided. It should be logged in this format:

My class is -class-
Enemy class is -enemyclass-
I beat -nick- on -mod-

hi, my class is comm
enemy class is tank
i beat moop on taekkyon with score 2-1

4. You may not fight the same person more than once in the same week. For purposes of the event it means exactly 7 cycles.
5. Once the duel begins, an unfinished fight (quit/no response) is always considered as a loss, unless the other player agrees to the rematch.
6. Repeatedly refusing to take up a challenge without a very good excuse will result in being moved to backup force. Tori Team has no place for cowards.
7. Starting from cycle 2 (now), if your logs are incorrect (e.g. enemy class you provided isn't the same as his real class or the nick is not correct), you will be immediately disqualified.

IRC #events is recommended for use during the event. If you have any questions or concerns, try to catch a GM in that channel.

- 2925 & 2926 dual hand flames will be given to top scorer of the event.
- The next top scoring players of the event will receive 6/4/2 ST for 1st/2nd/3rd place
- Top scoring players in every class that didn't receive previous prize will receive 1 ST consolation prize

- The winning team's Main Force will each win the item of their class.

- The winning team's Backup Force will receive a 50% one-time discount on their class item until August (cannot be used together with discount coupons)

- TT discount coupons to last two teams standing

You pick a team. 10 first people in each team fight duels against other classes. Winning means dealing HP damage. Classes have special abilities too. That's about it. Also other people that didn't fight but picked a team also get advantage if their team wins because they get a discount for the hat, kind of a "reward for picking the right team".

RULE CHANGELOG:
4th May:
* activity requirement for main force adjusted from 1 duel/3 days to 2 duels/3 days
* Spy health lowered to 95 HP
* Medic overheal lowered to 120 HP
5th May: flames added as a prize, yay
6th May: screenshots allowed for evidencing a duel
6th May: since 2nd cycle "proper logs" rule applies
9th May: Tank's HP dropped by 25 for balancing purposes.

Due to players pulling a lot of bullshit, new rule is set:

IF YOU PICK A CLASS AND ARE IN THE MAIN FORCE, YOU CANNOT CHANGE CLASS. IF YOU END UP IN BACKUP FORCE YOU CAN CHANGE CLASS TO ANOTHER ONE THAT STILL HAS SLOTS IN MAIN FORCE.

If you are in orange slots, you can't change class, you are in main force. If you're in white slots you can still post here to pick a diff class in order to end in main force.
