You have to be registered in 2.6, then go to the menu, click mods and click the mod you desire.
With 2.5 or below
Save mods here

start a single player game and type /loadmod modnamehere.tbm

can demo users use mods?
demo users can use mods from 2.5 or below.
but i cant move the file to mod folder. it says that mod folder cannot be edited.
That's weird, well you can't use a mod without using the mod folder. You probably have exceptionately high security settings on your computer or you are lacking administrator privelages. Or, more likely, you have write protection enabled. Right click the mods folder, click properties, It should look something like this.
click "apply", then "ok"
