Jamaican Riots
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/1333...can-riots.html

The 2010 Kingston unrest in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, started on May 23, 2010, when gangsters assaulted four police stations in southwestern Kingston and managed to loot and partially burn out one of the stations. Afterwards some 1,000 police and soldiers assaulted a public housing complex occupied by heavily armed gangsters defending an alleged drug lord wanted by the U.S., waging a major offensive in the heart of West Kingston's ramshackle slums. Gunmen swarmed around West Kingston trying to prevent the extradition of Christopher "Dudus" Coke, who has been indicted in the United States on drug and arms trafficking charges. The U.S. Justice Department considers him one of the world's most dangerous drug lords.

Thoughts?
I live in Kingston Jamaica. It's not as bad as the media portrays. Sure, Dudus is a drug lord, and he does hold a tight grip over Tivoli Gardens, but the reports of near anarchy in the entire island is far from the truth. There are people who believe the entire island is under siege. Most of it is just bunk.

And I also realize that people are always more concerned about preventing the criminals from entering their country rather than assisting or encouraging the Jamaica Constabulary Force or the Jamaica Defense Force for their efforts.

I recall one particular comment, made by no doubt an ignorant american, that wished for the coast guard to catch the "animals" if they try to escape to american shores. These types of disparaging comments infuriate people and make them look down on the group of elitists who believe they own the world. Not saying all americans are like that, just most of them I know.
